Assignment #5: Venus and Mars

Gee, I really hope you checked out our review of the tremendous show at LA's Michael Kohn Gallery, "She" featuring Wallace Berman and Richard Prince. If not, here it is (or you can always scroll down one post):

Walking away from this collection of two artists whose interpretations and fantasies about the fairer sex made for commonality in subject matter, one truly feels the sense of stereotypes and archetypes the opposite sexes have for one another. This brings me to the coveted fifth assignment.

Assignment #5: Venus and Mars
Create an image that looks to the opposite sex as a figure of fantasy.

Below is an image I created with this idea in mind. It's pretty self-explanatory.

I'd love to see all your interpretations of this theme. What are the common stereotypes about men/women? "Sugar and spice and everything nice" versus "snips and snails and puppy dog tails"? Playboy bunnies and He-Men? Okay, I'm not giving you any more ideas. See the sidebar for submission info. I can't wait to see your projects, so get working on them!
